The Problem-Solution

When you want to tweak the mood of your upcoming playlist in many music players you often have to switch across different playlists or radio stations and the music listening.

A less interruptive solution for changing the sound would present the users with several options for what they would like the sound to change to based on what they’re currently listening to.

Spotify Stations

I was inspired by the simplicity and interaction pattern that Spotify Stations has set for creating an easy station selector.

Start on Paper

I almost always try to fill at least one sheet of paper to start thinking through flows and basic layouts. This helps me avoid getting stuck on styling too soon in software.
